What recent project or transaction are you most proud of?
I recently negotiated a Tax Certiorari case for a large retail shopping center. This property was unique because part of the shopping center had been exposed to contamination and incurred significant remediation costs, in addition to a loss of income for the vacant contaminated site. I was able to negotiate a settlement and offer my client significant tax savings. Anytime I reduce the tax burden on a property and provide my client with a property tax refund it is rewarding, but when my client is in a difficult situation such as this and I am able to offer them critical financial relief, it is particularly satisfying.
What recent honor, achievement or recognition has meant the most to you and why?
I was recently named the recipient of the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association Bessie Ray Geffner Award this summer. This honor is given to Attorneys who demonstrate: interest in improving the justice system, the professionalism of the bar, and serving the community at large. I am honored to receive this recognition and motivated to continue to give back to the community.
